Are you looking to make your mark on a vibrant newsroom and contribute to successful print and online products?

The Sunshine Coast newspaper group  is looking for a cadet journalist who is an all-rounder to join our team and become part of the community.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter with strong news sense who is outgoing and enthusiastic about working in the news media.

You will have the skills to write accurate, engaging copy across a variety of topics as well as the ability to take eye-catching photos and videos and be a competent user of online and social media.

Applicants should also have a degree in journalist or similar, be able to demonstrate experience in the industry, possess a willingness to learn and hold a valid driver’s licence.

The position involves the production of high-quality community-based content for our weekly publications as well as updating our website on a regular basis.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires some rostered weekend and after-hours shifts and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done under the pressure of deadlines.
